During these past trying times with COVID-19 and other nationwide tragic events, my #1 goal is for safe and healthy school sites so our students, teachers and support staff can return to our schools for a safe in-person learning environment.  CNUSD currently has a School Resource Officer (SRO) at every high school and school security guards at every school in the district.  All schools in the school district have hardened security fencing for increased security and all school personnel receive annual training on school safety.  My platform includes a positive commitment to continuously improve the quality of education, health, safety, technology and school infrastucture.  A few of my goals include: 1. Closing the Achievement and Opportunity Gap in Education.  2. Expansion of Dual Language Immersion.  Students with Seals of B-Literacy have proven to attain exponential levels of academic success.  3. More Career Technical Education.  I understand and value the importance of CTE options for students as not all students are college bound.  4. Smaller class size.  5. Bringing back the Arts.  The critical importance of Arts integration in our schools has proven to expand learning opportunities for students.  6. STEM Innovation (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) prepares students to be competitive in the 21st century.  7. Continuous Technology upgrades.  8. New and improved School infrastructure.  9. Increased collaboration between students, parents, support staff, teachers, administration, CNUSD School Board and the community.  10. Strive for a sound balanced fiscal budget.
